Take a trip back in time to the early days of
Australian Film at the Redcliffe Picture Palace. The Redcliffe Picture
Palace shows predominently early Australian films made before 1960,
although their holdings of general films and documentaries is extensive.
There
is a public matinee on Sundays at 1.00pm - generally showing about
one hour of shorts, an intermission of about 20 minutes, and a feature
film, with the program finishing at about 4pm - cost is $7.00 per
person, including tea/coffee and biscuits during intermission.
The theatre also houses a small museum of early
film equipment, as well as an extensive archive of film. Film-to-Video
services are available for 8mm, super 8mm, 16mm and 35mm,as well
a film repair service.
Address:
151 Sutton Street, Redcliffe.
(the theatre can be a little hard to find, and the entrance
is down a landscaped pathway between two buildings.)
