Redcliffe Food and Dining
Fresh sea air and the friendly holiday atmosphere
of Redcliffe are guaranteed to give you a healthy appetite. And
the Peninsula has no shortage of excellent places to eat. Here's
a list of restaurants, cafes and eateries that I've personally tried
and can recommend:
Oasis
Cafe - This is my personal favourite! Situated at 163 Redcliffe
Parade, opposite the jetty, Oasis Cafe features an imaginative menu
that won't break your bank balance. Try the Gourmet Salad for a
light summer treat. Open 7 days. Phone: (07) 3285 1677.
Zorba's Gourmet Pizza,
Pasta and Gelati - Their menu says: "Simply the Best"
and if pizzas are your thing, then you will probably agree after
reading the mouthwatering descriptions. For starters, try the BTO
bread - absolutely delicious! Coffee is by Merlos. Located at 139
Margate Parade, Zorba's has uninterrupted views across the beach
and water. Opens early for Sunday breakfast. Phone: (07) 3283 7000.
La Tea Da
- If you're after something a bit more sophisticated, why not try
this little establishment tucked away in the Jetty Arcade? The first
establishment on the Peninsula to offer High Tea.
Hummingbird
Lane - High Tea, beautiful gifts and trinkets and sweeping
views of Moreton Bay. What more could you ask for? Redcliffe Esplanade,
Redcliffe.
Ebony and
Ivory - Upmarket cafe, not cheap but nice atmosphere and
good views across the bay.
Honey Pot Takeaway
- This small fish 'n chip shop has been in the same location for
decades. Standard takeaway fare, but it is conveniently located
above Settlement Cove
Lagoon at the southern end of the Redcliffe shopping strip.
Redcliffe Jetty
Cafe - Another eatery that's been around for a long time.
The place to go if you've got a crowd to feed. Fish and chips, hamburgers,
drinks and ice-creams. You know where it is by the name, of course.
KC's Seafood on the Beach
- Located on Margate Parade, at the corner of Robertson Road, KC's
features a good menu of seafood, light snacks, coffee and cakes.
The protected outside dining area suits sunshine or rain and the
Margate Beach Promenade is just across the road.
The Anchorage
- A coffee and collectables shop rolled into one. Redcliffe Esplanade,
Redcliffe.
Morgan's Seafood
- Morgan's is located at Scarborough Boat Harbour at the northern
tip of the Peninsula. Fresh seafood and sushi.
Red Dolphin Seafood
- Cheap, cheerful and clean. This is a classic fish 'n chip shop
located at the southern end of Margate Parade.
Woody's Seafood Takeaway
and Coffee Shop - Located opposite the Belvedere Hotel,
near the Woody Point Jetty.
Moreton Bay Bite - 99a Redcliffe
Parade. One of the newest eateries along the Redcliffe shopping
strip.
The Golden Ox - Oxley Avenue,
Margate. For a special evening of fine dining, this is the place.
Perfect for weddings, parties, anything.
Jandals - Australians wear thongs,
New Zealanders wear Jandals. Drop into this beachfront cafe for
a coffee and a bite to eat. Hornibrook Esplanade, Clontarf.
Great Australian Ice
Creamery - 77 Redcliffe Parade. Try our pancakes with free
cappuccino, or a meal from our regular menu. Phone 3883 1515. |G.A.I.C
