Redcliffe First Settlement Festival
Redcliffe lays claim to being Queensland’s
first European settlement and every September the Peninsula travels
back in time to re-create the sights and sounds of our early days.
The day's program of events has something for
everyone, from toddlers to grandparents:
- Re-enactment of the first European landing
in Queensland (complete with soldiers and convicts)
- Heritage fashion parade
- Colonial bell-tent display
- Visit the 100-foot schooner The South Passage
- Multicultural entertainment and seaside markets
- Amusement rides, face painting and children's
activities
- Custom and classic car display
- Rock 'n Roll tribute show
- Art and craft displays and demonstrations
- Waterfront food and wine court (as well as
the excellent local cafes or
restaurants)
Most of the activities are centred around Redcliffe
Beach and the jetty area. There's plenty of free parking in the
public car parks behind Sutton Street. [Map
